The Goddess of the Volcano lies in a trance-like sleep. In this state she travels to Kauai where she meets and falls in love with Lohi‘au, a prince. The two enjoy each other for a few days before Pele must return to her sisters waiting beside her sleeping body. When Pele returns to her body and awakens, she implores her sisters to bring her love, Lohi‘au, to her.
