This painting is one of the illustrations for the book “Uncle Kawaiola’s Dream” written by Victor C. Pellegrino.  The story is about a young Hawaiian man’s dream to restore the ancient lo‘i kalo (wetland taro patch). In the spirit of aloha a group of people are working together, helping to clear land to restore the ancient lo‘i kalo.
